Design a single product that mirrors HAY brand values (production, fashion, architecture, sustainability, and art) and integrate with Asia-Pacific cultural elements to inject new vitality into the brand.
Based on research, Asia-Pacific consumers will increasingly be working from home and will be keen on decorating their limited spaces.
Work from home furnishings usually consist of a desk, chair, lamp, side table, pots and vases, etc.
The way you turn the lamp on and off takes inspiration from the motion and action of the Philippine “barrel man.” The rechargeable battery powered light source is hidden inside the main body of the lamp which is made of fine bone china. When the main body of the lamp is stacked on top of its barrel, the light coming from within beautifully diffuses a Filipino weave pattern. The removable barrel is made of aluminum and is sturdy for frequent movement.
